It is not easy to say the origin of this format, which is present and popular all over Italy, although with different local names. Probably the birthplace of Fettuccine is Lazio, where they are the pride of all regional cuisine.
Fettuccine, which are very versatile and therefore suitable to enjoy with a variety of condiments, are particularly recommended in dry pasta recipes with tomato sauce and meat sauce. They are also excellent in preparations involving fish-based sauces, particularly shellfish.
